Chalmers could visit China within weeks
Labor is staying tight-lipped on plans for Treasurer Jim Chalmers to travel to China next month, in what would be the first such visit in seven years.
As the Albanese government continues work to stabilise diplomatic relations with Beijing, there is growing speculation in Canberra that officials expect Dr Chalmers to travel in early September. The visit would include meetings with representatives of China’s National Development and Reform Commission, a top economic policy body.
