Business slams class action lawfare firms

Business groups warn shareholders could be hit with billions of dollars in lawsuits backed by deep-pocketed hedge fund investors under the Albanese government’s free-for-all class action setting.
The Business Council of Australia, the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Ai Group warned the arrival of overseas law firms backed by big litigation funders had the explicit goal of waging lawfare on the ASX.
