Bugger off, Brookfield: Insurers hit back at private hospital chain
Insurers will target the boss of Canadian investment giant Brookfield in the increasingly bitter feud over Australia’s $22 billion private health sector, accusing him of chasing a taxpayer bailout.
Lobby group Private Healthcare Australia released a new ad campaign on Friday night, aimed squarely at Bruce Flatt, the chief executive of Brookfield. The company acquired Healthscope, one of Australia’s largest private hospital operators, for $4.1 billion in 2019.
