Big consultancies get $1m a day in contract extensions

Almost $750 million worth of lucrative taxpayer-funded work was tacked on to existing contracts with the big four consulting firms and Accenture in the past two years, or just over $1 million a day.
The headline figure was more than a quarter of the initial value of contracts signed by the five companies in financial years 2020 and 2021, with the vast bulk of add-ons coming from the Department of Defence.
