Labor has ignored a recommendation to limit the popular working holiday visa to one year, and instead promised to explore how to lure foreign workers to the regions.
The federal government’s migration strategy, released on Monday, designated processing applications for migrants headed to regional Australia as a top priority to address the shortage of workers in the bush.
