Australians still leery of China despite Beijing ending deep freeze
Australians continue to hold China in low regard despite two years of “stabilisation” under the Albanese government resulting in a less poisonous relationship between Canberra and Beijing, according to foreign policy think-tank the Lowy Institute’s annual poll.
And while Australians continue to value the US alliance, respect for US President Joe Biden is waning, amid questions over the ageing leader’s capacity to govern and criticism over his approach to the Gazan conflict.
