Australia locks in $1b defence deal with Germany

Labor has signed Australia’s largest single military export deal, in a $1 billion agreement to make more than 100 armoured vehicles for Germany in a factory in Brisbane’s west.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the deal would strengthen Australia’s security partnership with Europe while boosting its sovereign capability, as well as creating 600 direct jobs in the Sunshine State.
