Australia ‘deeply disappointed’ over Solomon Islands’ China deal

The Morrison government says it is “deeply disappointed” the Solomon Islands inked a security pact with China after Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare snubbed a personal request not to go ahead with the deal.
Amid an election campaign where Scott Morrison is spruiking his national security credentials, Labor branded the agreement Australia’s biggest foreign policy failure since the end of World War II.
