Labor is using Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese’s visit to northern and central Queensland as a dry run for the election campaign, with his office and party strategists closely co-ordinating themes and focusing on events that generate media-friendly pictures.

And with the pandemic threatening to cause havoc with campaign planning, the week-long trip may also foreshadow how the leaders will travel by spending much longer in a state before shifting to the next.
