China needs to lift its $20 billion in trade sanctions on Australia if it is serious about rebuilding the relationship, Anthony Albanese says.

Speaking before embarking on a nine-day trip to attend three global summits in South-East Asia, the prime minister said Australia was keen for a restoration of the relationship between, which turns 50 in December.
