The most telling aspect of Anthony Albanese’s whistle-stop visit to the United States this weekend is not about where he’s going, but where he’s not going.

Albanese flew out on Thursday night to Joe Biden’s home state of Delaware for a meeting of the Quad, the annual get-together of the leaders of Australia, India, Japan and the US, designed to send China a message on regional security.
