Extortion verdict cuts down dynamo mayor

Former Ipswich mayor Paul Pisasale, one of Australia’s most successful local government politicians, was left disgraced on Wednesday after being found guilty of extortion in a bizarre case where he posed as a private detective while in office.
The case involved Pisasale, 67, trying to obtain funds on behalf of a Chinese-born escort whose services he had used.
