Despite flattening curve, social restrictions are here for a while

State and territory governments are showing no signs of lifting tough social restrictions in the short term, despite a fall in new coronavirus infections.

Australia's successful "flattening of the curve" through social distancing and a virtual lockdown of parts of the economy had lifted hopes that the draconian restrictions would be eased.
