Consumers to pay for 'last minute' NEG changes, says ERM Power

Energy retailer ERM Power says last-minute changes to the National Energy Guarantee proposed by South Australia could force consumers to pay the price of excessive investments in power generation.

"Consumers will pay a very high price for unnecessary over-build and over-contracting for shortages that don't exist," said ERM Power chief executive Jon Stretch. "We're living with the legacy of gold-plated networks so why repeat that mistake with generation?"
