Boag blasts Heineken for cutting top beer prices
The chief executive of Tasmanian-based boutique brewer J Boag & Son, Mr Philip Adkins, has accused Heineken of damaging the fast-growing premium beer market in Australia by discounting prices to lift sales.
Mr Adkins also labelled as "stupid" any analysts and fund managers who regarded Boag's attempts to buy New Zealand-brewer Lion Nathan or United Kingdom brewing group Bass as a spoiling tactic to derail any takeover of the Tasmanian group itself.
