Directors and executives of J. Boag & Son have benefited from the financial rescue of the country's third-largest brewer earlier this year, with a substantial increase in remuneration packages.

The June refinancing saved Boag, which owns a brewery in Launceston and plans to open a chain of TGI Friday restaurants on the mainland, from receivership.
