Berejiklian resignation leaves NSW in pandemic limbo
NSW Liberal Party faction leaders and MPs will spend the weekend negotiating over the appointment of a new premier after the state’s anti-corruption body triggered Gladys Berejiklian’s resignation.
The Independent Commission Against Corruption’s decision to identify Ms Berejiklian, 51, as a target of a corruption investigation on Friday shocked the government, which will now have to elect a new leader during one of the most challenging times in the state’s history.
