Victoria’s moratorium on onshore gas exploration is blocking affordable gas that could help struggling manufacturers keep more jobs, developers and customers said.

Victorians, who face the steepest gas bill hikes in the nation at more than $400 a year for large family homes, would benefit if cheaper onshore gas were made available to augment declining Bass Strait deposits, they said.
