Australian Tourism Group opens war chest to go shopping in NZ

Australian Tourism Group has a "war chest" of about $100 million in potential borrowings to be used in expansion or diversification, according to its managing director, Mr Darryl Courtney-O'Connor.

The hotel group has been scouring New Zealand for opportunities to take its Country Comfort hotel chain offshore and had discussed the possibility of reopening the catering facilities at Sydney's Luna Park, which is now closed and in receivership.
