ACCC alleges cartel in egg trade

An oversupply in the $1.67 billion egg industry was so critical, the Australian Egg Corporation convened a crisis meeting of the top 25 producers to cull birds.
It was February 8, 2012 and managing director James Kellaway told the meeting at a Sydney airport hotel that although the corporation had invested more than $1 million to help move volumes, wholesale egg prices had dropped through the floor.
