Tomago power contract set to trouble MacGen sale

As if the NSW government’s sale process for Macquarie Generation wasn’t problematic enough, Rio Tinto-controlled Tomago Aluminium has stepped up a bid to renegotiate a major electricity contract with the power giant to get a cheaper price.

As if the NSW government’s sale process for Macquarie Generation wasn’t problematic enough, Rio Tinto -controlled Tomago Aluminium has stepped up a bid to renegotiate a major electricity contract with the power giant to get a cheaper price.

Tomago, partly owned by CSR , has hired Greenhill as it seeks to cut the price it pays for power ahead of the sale.
