Queensland mulls expansion of stamp duty discounts in tax shake-up

The Queensland Labor government will consider expanding stamp-duty concessions and overhauling land tax as part of a review into the tax system aimed at boosting housing supply.

The state will also look at changing foreign owner surcharges and boosting incentives to encourage developments as the government scrambles to find solutions to ease the chronic affordability and availability crisis.
