Budget plots $2.3b hit on super savers

A contentious plan to increase tax on large superannuation balances will generate $2.3 billion in additional revenue in its first full year of operation.
The change, flagged in February and confirmed in Tuesday’s budget, will double from 15 per cent to 30 per cent the tax on earnings of superannuation accounts with balances over $3 million.
