Brawl over 'voluntary' superannuation push
A member of the Morrison government’s retirement income inquiry produced a backlash from union-backed industry superannuation funds after urging Treasurer Josh Frydenberg to consider making super payments partly voluntary for low income and younger workers.
Inquiry member Deborah Ralston said increasing the super guarantee to 12 per cent would force low-income earners to forgo too much money.
