M&A teams at AGL Energy , Shenhua and the like would be cancelling their summer holiday plans after the NSW government released a long-dated sale timetable for its biggest power company, Macquarie Generation .

It’s understood the vendor, through adviser Goldman Sachs, has written to interested parties laying down an indicative timetable which would see first-round bids in October and final offers in January.
