Who’s most likely to die from alcohol poisoning, and what they drink

Australians at the highest risk of dying unexpectedly from alcohol poisoning are male, just under 50, with a long history of heavy drinking and preference for spirits, according to a new study.

They prefer beverages with a high alcohol content because of the lower cost per unit, and are likely to be consuming spirits immediately preceding their death.
