Sydney’s lockdown to be extended by one week

Sydney’s current lockdown will be extended for another week beyond Friday as NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian signals a tougher approach to restrictions, warning life won’t return to the way it was pre-lockdown due to the infectious nature of the delta variant of COVID-19.
NSW has been a stand-alone in its approach to controlling the virus, resisting snap lockdowns and other restrictions.
