Shorter quarantine would generate big economic benefits

Quarantine periods for interstate and international travellers could be reduced to seven days and drive about $66 billion of economic benefit, without increasing the risk of COVID-19 transmission if travel volumes remained stable, a new model shows.

The Transparent Risk Assessment of Quarantine (traQ) model is a risk-based, mathematical modelling tool developed by the Burnet Institute in Melbourne and funded by Andrew Forrest's Minderoo Foundation.
