Omicron could have a bright side

Omicron has come out of the blue and, though everyone is focused on its dark side, it also has the potential to change the course of the pandemic for the better.

Evidence so far suggests it is highly transmissible but does not make people severely ill. If this is borne out, and it does not cause severe illness leading to death, it is a step in the right direction.
