Business takes up the slack on mandatory vaccination
Jennifer HewettColumnistFood manufacturer SPC should be applauded for its practical leadership in dealing with the delta variant of COVID-19. The company more known for its Ardmona canned tomatoes and Goulburn Valley package fruit will, of course, also attract criticism for its decision to announce its entire workforce must be vaccinated.
But despite the federal government’s reluctance to legislate, confused messages from Safe Work Australia and the possibility of legal challenges from unions or individuals, the rural Victoria-based company still wants to take urgent action on behalf of its employees, its customers and its business.
