Brisbane to enter three-day snap lockdown

Two and half million Brisbanites are to go into a snap three-day lockdown after authorities said they were very worried about the potential spread of the highly infectious UK variant of COVID-19.

From 6pm Friday until 6pm Monday, people in the local government areas of Brisbane, Moreton Bay, Ipswich, Redlands and Logan will be required to stay at home, Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said.
