PM refuses to say he trusts Chinese President Xi

Chengdu, China | Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has refused to say he trusts President Xi Jinping as he wrapped up a five-day visit to China but defended his lengthy trip as crucial to winning the respect of the country’s communist rulers.

As the Coalition criticised parts of Albanese’s trip as indulgent for visiting the Great Wall of China and a panda-breeding centre, Albanese maintained he had forged a warm relationship with authoritarian leader Xi.
