The Victorian opposition says the state’s ambitious $100 billion offshore wind rollout is in disarray as the executive in charge of a project killed off by federal Energy Minister Chris Bowen slammed the decision as wasting one of the highest potential ocean sites.
Bowen on Friday revealed bad news for wind projects in both Victoria and NSW. He confirmed the US-owned renewables operator BlueFloat Energy had asked the Albanese government to pause its application for its project in the Illawarra, south of Sydney, until after the election.
