Labor stand-off threatens $100b offshore wind rollout

A bitter stand-off between the Victorian and federal Labor governments over how to deliver the ambitious rollout of the state’s $100 billion offshore wind plans is threatening to deepen the state’s energy crisis.

Victorian Minister for Ports Melissa Horne told AFR Weekend the state government is pushing ahead with plans to use its Port of Hastings as an offshore wind hub, 13 months after federal Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek vetoed the choice on environmental grounds.
