Fund home batteries if you want my vote: Spender

Teal independent Allegra Spender will put government-backed home battery loans at the top of her list of demands in any future balance of power negotiations, raising pressure on the major parties to come up with significant household electrification policies of their own.

Spender will unveil a $3.7 billion plan on Monday to electrify over 800,000 homes through a program of tax incentives and loans, less than a week after the Coalition flagged it was considering taking its own home battery policy to the election.
