It took former Australian rugby union international Anthony Abrahams five years to rebuild the heritage barn on his rural NSW bolthole by hand and only minutes for it to be razed to a pile of rubble.
Late on Saturday night, embers from a fire on the NSW South Coast sparked the Morton fire in the Southern Highlands – about 150 kilometres south- west of Sydney and a known getaway for wealthy Sydneysiders – which destroyed the barn.
