Business groups are pushing for a delay in the July start date of mandatory climate disclosure as they warn of major gaps in the draft legislation that could trigger a wave of climate litigation.
The federal government released its exposure draft of the laws on January 12 and submissions in response are due by February 9, before the new rules kick in for the country’s biggest companies mid-year.
