The royal commission recommendations that may have the longest-lasting impact on the financial services industry can be found right at the end of Commissioner Ken Hayne's list of 76 proposed changes.
The 75th recommendation is that the myriad carve-outs, exemptions and qualifications that the powerful financial services lobby has won over decades must be done away with.
