It's a hung parliament. The exit poll tipped Theresa May's conservatives would end up with 314 seats Labour 266, the Scottish Nationals 34 and Liberal Democrats 14. The latest figures put the tally at: Conservatives 312, Labour 260, SNP 35 and Lib Dems 12.

The uncertainty sent the British pound to its lowest level against the US dollar since the election was called on April 18.
