More than 100 firefighters have tackled a blaze at a luxury hotel in central London that produced thick black smoke visible for miles around and required people inside to evacuate the building.
London Fire Brigade said it was called to the 12-storey Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Knightsbridge just south of Hyde Park before 4pm local time on Wednesday (1am Thursday AEST).
