British parliament seeks to torpedo no-deal Brexit

London | British MPs will on Thursday mount an attempt to prevent the country lurching into a no-deal Brexit on October 31, potentially throwing a hand grenade into the race to succeed Theresa May as Conservative prime minister.
Some of the frontrunners in the six-week Tory leadership campaign, including runaway favourite Boris Johnson, have vowed to leave the EU on Halloween if a new Brexit deal can't be settled by then.
