Shanghai |The Morrison government says it has raised concerns with Beijing about China's mass detention of Uighur Muslim minorities, but on Tuesday declined to say whether it would consider imposing sanctions on Communist Party officials over the issue.

Canberra is under growing pressure to call out China on the issue following reports the Trump administration is considering punishing Chinese officials or companies linked to the detention of as many 1 million Uighurs and other minority Muslims in re-education camps in China's remote northwest.
