Growing maintenance expertise to service allies
As Australian defence companies seek to grow military exports and embed themselves into global supply chains, the nation's reputation for a highly skilled engineering and mechanical workforce will also see the country play an important role in servicing war machines and enhancing regional relationships.
With air forces beginning to take delivery of their Joint Strike Fighters – the first two Australian aircraft to be based on home soil are due to arrive in December – the project will also be a boon for local companies in sustaining and maintaining aircraft.
