Journalist Jamal Khashoggi's killing was planned and carried out by Saudis, UN says
Geneva | A United Nations-led inquiry into the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi said on Thursday (Friday AEDT) that evidence pointed to a brutal crime "planned and perpetrated" by Saudi officials.
Khashoggi's killing by a team of Saudi operatives on Oct. 2 provoked widespread revulsion for Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, whom western media and some politicians had previously admired for pushing some changes in the kingdom on tax reform, infrastructure and beginning to allow women to have some rights equal to men, such as being allowed to drive a car.
