Tony Abbott vows to torpedo energy reform

The Turnbull government's plans to implement any form of clean energy policy are in grave doubt after Tony Abbott dropped any last pretence of support and threatened to lead a backbench revolt.
Mr Abbott, who rolled Malcolm Turnbull for the leadership in 2009 over energy policy, said it would be "unconscionable" to implement any policy which reduces emissions and that he and others would cross the floor if the government tried.
