Senator Sam Dastyari to grill bank chiefs on financial planning scandals

A group of the nation's most senior bank chiefs will appear before a parliamentary inquiry next week to be grilled about past actions by their organisations which have left clients out of pocket and in many cases destitute.

Their appearance before the Senate economics committee, chaired by Labor senator Sam Dastyari, will also give them the opportunity to comment on plans by the Abbott government to proceed with a bank deposit levy in next month's federal budget.
