Scott Morrison says Victoria's stamp duty cuts will increase prices

A plan by the Victorian state government to axe or reduce stamp duty for first home-buyers would only drive up prices unless coupled with other policies to increase supply, federal Treasurer Scott Morrison says.
Mr Morrison, who is developing a housing affordability policy as a key plank of the May 9 federal budget, has told radio 2GB that he welcomed the policy announcement by Premier Daniel Andrews but warned it should not be implemented in isolation.
