Labor to oppose union deregistration bill

Federal Labor resolved formally on Tuesday to oppose government legislation that will facilitate the deregistration of unions and union officials, and make it easier to block union mergers.
Despite the government saying the watering down of its Ensuring Integrity Bill addressed the concerns previously raised by Labor, the caucus rejected supporting it outright.
