Government pledges tax cuts despite parliamentary delay

The Morrison government insists the tax cuts it took to the election will be delivered after conceding it will not keep its promise to legislate the cuts before the end of the financial year.

Despite promising before and during the election campaign that the income tax cuts for low and middle income earners, as announced in the April 2 budget, would be legislated before the end of June, Prime Minister Scott Morrison said that was now “very unlikely”'.
