Electricity prices will be deregulated in south-east Queensland from July after the state's Productivity Commission found it would boost competition and potentially lower prices.
But the Palaszczuk government has refused to scrap its solar bonus scheme – where more than 200,000 households will pay next to nothing for electricity until 2028 – despite it being a key recommendation of the Productivity Commission report.
